The Soldier Statue

The story is told of a man who upon entering a city stopped and viewed a statue that was only the torso of a soldier, with its armor. At closer inspection he noticed inscriptions on the base of the four sides of statue. The first read: He lost his feet for fear froze his Love for life’s progression. The second read: He lost his arms for his Heart was full of Apathy towards his fellowmen.
The third read: He lost his head for his Eyes saw no beauty, His Ears heard only falsehoods and mistrust, his Thoughts were filled with hopelessness and his lips uttered only Hate. The fourth read: Life begins anew at every sunrise, with the inevitability of a changed you.
