Unlock & Develop the Leadership in Others

Unlock & Develop the Leadership in Others

THE WHAT, is the problem

In our world today we are facing a very real and disturbing situation, the lack of GOOD Mirage1LEADERSHIP. Every facet of our lives are being affected, families, educational institutions, work, even the governance of our countries. It can be said that we are experiencing a leadership drought of unprecedented proportions.

Could it be that the human society has been living in the mirage of what they think is a beautiful oasis that they have forgotten the reality of the desert and the consequences which are occurring. Richard Bach the author in his book Illusions wrote “If you will practice being oasisfictional for a while, you will understand that fictional characters are sometimes more real than people with bodies and heartbeats.” Are we there yet as an entire human society, no not quite, however our trajectory should give us  reason to pause, and evaluate where we are and where we are headed.

THE WHO, will fix it.

We are all leaders, each and every one of us. Every interaction that you will have today will move others to a behavioral reaction. Every action you do, once seen becomes categorized as an example. Armed with this understanding that you are knowingly or Setting-Exampleunknowingly leading others, there are critical questions that become important for you to answer; Are the interactions and examples that I display today positive or negative? What Leadership skill sets do I need to unlock? What are the Leadership skills that I need to further develop?

All of these questions will require from you to dig deep within the recess of your mind and heart to find that true you, and most importantly when found, acknowledging both the weaknesses and strengths alike. Do not hesitate or procrastinate your inner search for fear of what you may find. It does not matter your starting point, what matters most is that you start.

Once you begin it will require from you to take what you find and commit with every fiber of your being to grow your strengths and say good bye to the weaknesses. Always remain focused on the goal which is, TO FIX THE WHAT. Ken Blanchard in his book The Leadership Pill notes “Leadership is the process of getting everyone to the place they are supposed to go.” Never forget that you are helping them find their greatness. Who will fix it, you will.

THE HOW, it is accomplished

On the path to Good Leadership you will be always finding that there is another door of skill that needs to be unlocked and that there is a profound joy that one experiences in the journey to developing the leader within themselves. That joy will be felt a million times over as you share what you have learned and see the development of others.

Imagine you are the unknowing bystander watching as those you lead are now facing challenges head on with positive attitudes, filled with optimism but with well thought out, planned, realistic goals and measured expectations to overcome them; (YOU CONTINUALLY ENCOURAGE).

Motivational-Leadership-By-Example-620x320Imagine being briefed by a managerial peer on your subordinate’s quick and decisive action to make a tough call, which was the right call; (YOU CONTINUALLY EMPOWER).

Imagine receiving a call from a client highlighting the quick thinking and innovative skills displayed by a field agent to change the game plan, which ensured the achievement of their desired results; (YOU CONTINUALLY ELEVATE). John Quincy Adams wrote “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” This is how it is accomplished by you developing others.
